Given the interconnected nature of climate change, loss of biodiversity, land degradation, and air and water pollution, it is essential that these problems are tackled together now. This is one of the main messages included in the new UNEP report “Making Peace with Nature”.
Halting and reversing biodiversity loss means addressing the direct drivers such as land and sea use, overexploitation, climate change, air and water pollution and invasive species. Transformation towards sustainability involves significant changes in behaviour, culture, material flows and systems of management and knowledge transmission.
