These activities are carried out by the Management Authority for Parks and Biodiversity \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.parcodeltapo.it\/it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Po Delta Park, Emilia-Romagna<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The dune habitats recognized and protected under the Habitats Directive 92\/43\/EEC are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>1210 \u201cAnnual vegetation of drift lines\u201d<\/strong> (pioneer communities that develop on organic debris accumulated along the shoreline)<\/li>\n<li><strong>2110 \u201cEmbryonic shifting dunes\u201d<\/strong> (the first dune formations near the coastline, poorly developed and unstable)<\/li>\n<li><strong>2120 \u201cShifting dunes along the shoreline with Ammophila arenaria (\u2018white dunes\u2019)\u201d<\/strong> (active dunes stabilized by marram grass)<\/li>\n<li><strong>2130* (priority habitat) \u201cFixed coastal dunes with herbaceous vegetation (\u2018grey dunes\u2019)\u201d<\/strong> (stabilized dunes with herbaceous cover; characterized by high biodiversity)<\/li>\n<li><strong>2160 \u201cDunes with Hippophae rhamnoides\u201d<\/strong> (dunes colonized by shrubs, particularly sea buckthorn)<\/li>\n<li><strong>2230 \u201cMalcolmietalia dune grasslands\u201d<\/strong> (annual herbaceous vegetation typical of Mediterranean sandy dunes)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Natura 2000 sites containing these habitats are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>IT4060003 SPA-SAC \u201c<em>Vene di Bellocchio, Sacca di Bellocchio, Mouth of the Reno River, Bellocchio Pine Forest<\/em>\u201d<\/li>\n<li>IT4060005 SPA-SAC \u201c<em>Sacca di Goro, Po di Goro, Valle Dindona, Mouth of the Po di Volano<\/em>\u201d<\/li>\n<li>IT4060007 SPA-SAC \u201c<em>Bosco di Volano<\/em>\u201d<\/li>\n<li>IT4070005 SPA-SAC \u201c<em>Casalborsetti Pine Forest, Staggioni Pine Forest, Porto Corsini Dune<\/em>\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15682\" src=\"https:\/\/naturachevale.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/MappaITA_ParcoER_siti-dune-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1679\" \/>Park technicians carried out four days of ex-ante monitoring in June (23\/06 and 27\/06) and July (01\/07 and 02\/07) 2025. Activities were conducted during the same time period (08:00\u201313:00) and following the same methodology, by walking along existing paths within the monitored areas and following the habitat boundaries identified in the regional habitat maps.<\/p>\n<p>This made it possible to verify the correspondence between the actual conditions on the ground and the information shown in the maps updated in 2021 and available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/geoportale.regione.emilia-romagna.it\/catalogo\/dati-cartografici\/biologia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Regional Geoportal<\/a>. The survey substantially confirmed the boundaries described in 2021, except for a few minor modifications that will be incorporated in future updates.<\/p>\n<p>To support the management of dune habitats, Park technicians prepared a manual entitled \u201c<em>Manual of Plant Species Occurring within Habitats 1210, 2110, 2120, 2130*, 2160 and 2230<\/em>\u201d, containing all the descriptive, photographic, and cartographic information required for habitat management and for detecting possible changes during subsequent monitoring activities.<\/p>\n<p>Restoration measures are being implemented through the installation of post-and-rope fencing.
